The zebra SH-PGB Pearly Gates Humbucker from Seymour Duncan is a PAF-style bridge pickup based on the stock bridge pickup in ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons' 1959 Les Paul. This pickup offers slightly more output and gain than most '50s PAFs, giving it some extra drive and plenty of rude Texas attitude. Great for rhythm and lead, the Pearly Gates bridge pickup offers a focused high end that cuts through the mix with an open and airy treble attack, and its emphasized midrange helps to enhance the pickup's natural growl and sizzle, bringing any guitar to life.
The SH-PGB utilizes an alnico 2 bar magnet, a nickel-silver bottom plate, as well as a 4-conductor lead wire for multiple wiring options, and is vacuum wax potted for squeal-free performance. The SH-PGB is carefully hand-built in Santa Barbara, CA, and wound on Seymour's original Leesona winding machine from the early Gibson factory in Kalamazoo, MI, adding to the pickup's vintage mojo. |
