The Rail Series from Seymour Duncan combines classic pickups with innovative rail design for modern players. This collection features JB Rails, Jazz Rails, the Hot-Rodded Rails Set, Nazgûl Rails, Sentient Rails, the Nazgûl Sentient Rails Set, and Black Winter Rails. Each pickup retains the revered characteristics of our originals while infusing them with the clarity, tightness, and sustain of rail design, making them ideal for high-gain applications. They are available for both 6 and 7 string guitars, now with the option of steel or black steel rails!
The Sentient Rails neck pickup was designed as the perfect companion to our Nazgûl Rails. The rail design evenly distributes the magnetic field across the strings, enhancing string to string balance, with increased clarity and sustain for intricate chordal passages while being clear and tight for single note runs under high gain for a modern response. The Sentient Rails pickup is incredibly expressive with a broad harmonic range, and it excels in lower tunings on any guitar!
Hand built in our Santa Barbara, CA factory, the Sentient Rails uses an Alnico 8 bar magnet, 4-conductor lead wire for multiple wiring options, and is vacuum wax potted for squeal-free performance. Available for both 6 and 7-string versions, and now with option of steel or black steel rails!
