Flamed eucalyptus, alias Eucalyptus globulus Labill, is a very visually appealing wood and has therefore been used in musical instrument making for several years. It is particularly popular for the back and sides of concert guitars. Originally from Australia, Tasmania and New Guinea, it can now also be found in countries such as Spain, India, Brazil and some African countries. The wood we use comes from the north-west of Spain and is sustainably sourced. Due to the natural colouring of the wood, we have opted for a vintage sunburst finish. This very traditional finish, in combination with the gold-plated tuners and rich abalone ornamentation, gives the guitar a high-quality appearance and should particularly appeal to Ovation traditionalists.
