Considered to be the first production bass, the single coil pickup in the tele bass was the first serious foray into capturing low-end vibrations. This pickup is still a favorite today because of a robust low end tone and a subtle, articulate midrange punch. Seymour Duncan hasn't changed a thing on this pickup, using authentic components for this classic, down to the black yarn and waxed cloth cable. The output is a little lower than other pickups, giving you lots of headroom, yet maintaining distinct, classic tone.
Since 1978, Seymour Duncan has been hand building all of their vintage Fender style single coil pickups with the right color and thickness of Forbon flatwork, along with the period correct hand ground alnico 5 rod magnets. Each pickup comes complete with waxed and tinned cloth pushback hook-up wires. We hand file the flatwork, assemble, and lacquer the bobbin just as it was done during Fenders Golden Age. |
