Pearl's Rope Tuned Wood Ashiko Drums are available in your choice of a beautiful hand-painted or hand-carved decorative finish.
The origin of Ashiko drums can be traced back to West Africa and the Yoruba tribe. The Ashiko is a close relative to the djembe, and its sound is complementary to the djembe when played together in drum circles or ensembles.
The long-tapered cylinder of the Ashiko produces lower bass notes than djembes, with rich mid-tones.
Carved from a solid Mahogany log, the Pearl Ashiko is 22" tall and features a 12" goat skin head.
14 EZ Twist Rope Tuners are attached and will allow you to raise the pitch of the drum quickly.
